TEHRAN – Iran is following up on possible inscription of some ancient villages on the UNESCO World Heritage list in the years ahead.

The Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization is assessing several nominees in Sistan-Baluchestan, North Khorasan and other provinces to pick the most fitted for [possible] UNESCO inscription, CHTHO Deputy Director Morteza Rahmani-Movahhed told Tasnim on May 3.

Deeply soaked in time, Iran expects to reap a bonanza from its numerous natural beauties and historical sites, including 21 ones that are inscribed on the UNESCO list.
